"Our house-to-be is just a concrete foundation in a large hole.  On the first day, half of us would be on the hammer-swinging gang, nailing together 2X6’s into sub-assemblies destined for framing doors and windows.  The other half of our group works in the dirt.  The shovelers have started digging into the huge pile of rubble and dirt out back, and dumping it into the moving taxi stand of 'Wheelers' wheel barrows, who take it around to fill in the hole then swing ‘round for their next load."

WUSYG has worked with Habitat for Humanity locally as well as all across our country for many years.  In fact, we've done so much work with Habitat, we've created a sub-group of WUSYGers known as "tatters" - people ridiculously consumed and overly excited about building homes with Habitat.

Our attention has turned to the Gulf Coast in recent months, but we continue to support  this great organization in every way we can, now and in the foreseeable future.
